Growing up

Keegan may still (may always) be called baby Keegan but he isn't much of a baby anymore... Just this month he has shown that he can:
- step up and down stairs
- climb in and out of the bathtub (sometimes fully dressed to hint he wants to bathe)
- say: all done, uh oh, light, more, bye bye, I don't know (with the best shoulder shrug ever), oink, chicken (chichi), doggy, nigh nigh, help, mom, dad, up, p
-climb easily on and off any chair, couch or small table he can find
- eat only while using a fork or while holding a fork
- hold his own when his big brother tries to push him over or take something away
- click and clip every fastener in the house

It is official.

Though he has been taking steps for a bit now I think today is the day that Keegan has officially become a walker. He walked from the kitchen into the family room all by himself and when he falls he just gets right back up and keeps on walking.
That's it. My last baby is no longer a baby but a toddler. He is toddling about the house while I am holding back tears- I cannot understand how it is all going so fast. My children are so special and changing so fast.

One step, two step

Wednesday 8-22. A big day. Keegan took his first two steps! Repeatedly. He took two steps inside. Two steps outside. Two steps on the carpet. Two steps on the grass. It has begun. The beginning of the end of babyhood is here. :sigh:

Cruzin

Not sure exactly when it happened but Keegan has officially gone pro at cruzin'. This kid is a master. You look and one minute he is playing by the fridge, the next thing you know he is pulling up on your pants and he didn't crawl once. He can make his way around most of the kitchen and living room without crawling simply by walking holding on to a variety of surfaces. He is so very pleased with himself and I am so very impressed :-)

Blurg

Mommy and Daddy had the stomach flu this week. Keegan is teething this week. It is my last week of the school year this week.  We are SUPER busy and moderately stressed.
Poor lil man has been waking and fussy every 40 minutes to two hours all day (and night) long making for a long couple of days and nights.  Keegan has wanted to be held all the day- he doesn't even want to practice his super speed army crawl because he feels so crummy.
But perhaps there is a light at the end of the tunnel- tooth #3 popped through today! Top tooth- a big ole chomper (and his poor gum is so red and puffy).  Hopefully it's matching tooth comes soon and he can find some relief.

Up, up, up

Because time is apparently moving at the speed of light... Keegan has mastered pulling up on nearly everything he is surrounded by. This includes people, couches, toys, his brother, his crib, pillows,..... He looks SO big standing up and grinning. How did this happen already?!

On the Move!

Keegan can crawl! He can alternate left leg right arm and then right leg left arm and move forward! It is halting, wobbly, awkward, and slow as heck, but it is CRAWLING
Way to go Mr Big Stuff- Mommy is so proud of you

He talks

Keegan jabber jaws already. Too cute. He says ma ma ma ma and opens and closes his mouth like a koi fish. Too darn cute!

Moving

Keegan can now roll left to right and right to left back to tummy and tummy to back in all directions. Which means that he is officially actually mobile. He can swivel when facing forward on his tummy and change directions.
Today he started pushing up on his toes and even scooting backward a bit. He can bring his left knee up by his hip and I suspect he may crawl within the next month!

All Done Swing

The swing was the answer to our prayers for sleep for quite some time, Keegan could sleep in there for four or more hours at a time- giving him much needed rest and Grayson much needed one on one time and Daddy a much needed break.  Turns out those days are over- dude is huge and even with brand new batteries Mr Swing can't swing anymore.  Guess we need to consider working on sleeping in the crib sooner rather than later ;)

Riding

Mr Big Stuff is so big that he can ride in a cart. I am simply shocked at how fast he is growing.

Big day

Today was a big day for Mr Big Stuff. Today he rolled.....& rolled...& rolled....& rolled all across the living room! Real movement across space.
And then tonight he sat. & sat. & sat. For 20 seconds or more at a time righting himself if he got a bit off balance, reaching and playing with a diaper. Sitting like a big boy! My goodness this is going fast.

Keegan's second tooth officially popped through his gums today! Two bottom teeth for Mr Big Stuff.

First tooth

Keegan has his first tooth! On the bottom in the right center he has a new little tooth! Explains the drool recently and the grumps. Our baby is getting so big.

And the little one said Roll Over, Roll Over

Keegan spent the morning at home with Daddy and his cousin Jessica playing and having a grand time-- and apparently he felt like showing off during tummy time as he ROLLED OVER!!
On four seperate occassions he rolled over from his tummy to his back to the right side. Lil man is going to be mobile before we know it- we had better cherish this nice time when he can't get away from where we place him :)

Smiles

We have been thinking Keegan has been smiling for a week or so now... but it has been tricky to elicit.  One day Ryan got him to smile playing with his blanket and running it across Keegan's lips and face.  Another evening he was smiling while watching the ceiling fan but it was quick and couldn't be captured.
But today Keegan was enjoying a big talk with his dad and brother and the smiles just kept coming! Amazing how much joy it fills us with.
