Moving

Keegan can now roll left to right and right to left back to tummy and tummy to back in all directions. Which means that he is officially actually mobile. He can swivel when facing forward on his tummy and change directions.
Today he started pushing up on his toes and even scooting backward a bit. He can bring his left knee up by his hip and I suspect he may crawl within the next month!

All Done Swing

The swing was the answer to our prayers for sleep for quite some time, Keegan could sleep in there for four or more hours at a time- giving him much needed rest and Grayson much needed one on one time and Daddy a much needed break.  Turns out those days are over- dude is huge and even with brand new batteries Mr Swing can't swing anymore.  Guess we need to consider working on sleeping in the crib sooner rather than later ;)

Riding

Mr Big Stuff is so big that he can ride in a cart. I am simply shocked at how fast he is growing.

Big day

Today was a big day for Mr Big Stuff. Today he rolled.....& rolled...& rolled....& rolled all across the living room! Real movement across space.
And then tonight he sat. & sat. & sat. For 20 seconds or more at a time righting himself if he got a bit off balance, reaching and playing with a diaper. Sitting like a big boy! My goodness this is going fast.

Giggles and smiles and love and... big sigh

a glimpse into the future

Grayson wanted to hold Keegan, Keegan wasn't so sure he wanted to be held- what resulted was the first of what I anticipate to be MANY wrestling matches between our sons.

6 months old

Mr Big Stuff is six months old. Weighing in at 23 pounds 4 ounces (2 oz heavier than his big brother was an a year!) and 27 3/4 inches long. He is so cool and really beginning to interact and show his personality.
He chuckles. He giggles. He smiles and shows off his two bottom teeth. He makes my heart melt with joy. Keegan can reach for toys and bang bang bang them until they fall. He loves snuggles and momma milk. He loves his two dates with Grandma each week and works on his exercises.
Keegan thinks his big brother is the coolest kid ever and loves to watch him wherever he goes. He smiles whenever he sees his kitties and is starting to pay attention to everything a round him. He pushes up on him arms and rolls around. He spins and scoots and moves on his back and can cover some serious ground quickly.
Keegan is perfect and charming and everything we could hope for.

Cheeks!

Seriously this kid cannot be any more precious.

First tooth

Keegan has his first tooth! On the bottom in the right center he has a new little tooth! Explains the drool recently and the grumps. Our baby is getting so big.

5 months old

Five months old, 21.9 pounds of pure awesomeness. Little one has had a killer cold so sleep has been elusive this month yet he continues to grow and amaze us. Keegan no longer likes his bouncy seat and prefers to be upright in his high chair playing with toys while we eat. He loves jumping -in your lap or the jumperoo- and can be entertained that way for 20 minutes at a time. K is starting to do sit ups and gets quite the ab workout on his changing table. Lil man sleeps in bed with momma and puts himself to sleep by burying in face in the side of mom's pillow and watching stars on the ceiling. Keegan has quite the grip and can pull himself up to sitting by holding onto your fingers. He is a smiley boy nearly all the time who lights up the lives of everyone around him. He chuckles and squeals with joy and fills my heart.

Squish

Squish
Grayson muchly enjoys squishing and holding his little brother. Keegan's reception of this squishing varies but in general he is amazingly tolerant and I think on some level he knows he is much loved. I can only hope he never doubts that is loved, ever, because he always will be.

Watch "K "sleeping "" on YouTube
Lately Keegan has been a bit chatty in the night.  This is what I get to try to sleep through ;)

Four Months Old

Four months have passed since Keegan was born, four months that have just absolutely flown by.  He is no longer my little baby (emphasized by meeting Janine and Austin's two week old baby Dean this week) he is getting so big.
Keegan weighs 19 pounds and 14.5 oz, he is 26 1/4 inches long, he is growing out of his six month sized clothing, he doesn't bobble his head, he can roll over from belly to back, he can roll from back to side, he can screech like a pterodactyl, he can squeal with joy, he can reach for and pick up a toy, he can hold on for dear life, he can make my heart melt with a smile and some dimples, he is precious and perfect and loved.
Time is going too fast- I am back to work full time now - I have five months until we get to be together more days in a week than not again. Keegan can push up on his arms, he can hold his head in line with his body- he is four months old and changing every single day.  I get so emotional when I realize how fast it all does go- I will be honest I don't love every single minute (how can you really love every minute when some of them involve being screamed at, pooped on, puked on or hit- really) but I do cherish every single day I am given with this boy who is lights up every room with his easy going personality and his joy.
Keegan isn't sleeping much these days- those glorious nights of 5 to 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep have passed- and he really hates his crib big so he and I are still sharing a bed- but I am so much less stressed about it than I was with his older brother.  I now realize what I couldn't possibly have known with my first child- it will all happen eventually. Someday he will sleep on his own, someday he will eat solids, someday he will soothe himself- but that someday is not today and probably isn't this month or maybe even next month and I am honestly okay with that.  I almost think on some level I will be sad when he sleeps on his own, when he isn't snuggled with his little body up against mine all night long (I will NOT however be sad to sleep more than 1 to 2 hours at a time though or to sleep in my amazing comfy bed upstairs again) because I know that once that passes it doesn't come back.
